No， but experience helps. That said， many of our students come from careers outside of journalism. We’ve had attorneys， flight attendants， police officers， teachers， web designers， bankers， physiologists， surgeons， psychiatrists， actors， Peace Corp volunteers， engineers， scientists and comedians.
